Well I got my hands on some x country running drills yesterday so I figured I would give them a try...
Originally I was going to take Th and Fri off of running but I can't seem to stop. Every day I tell myself... "Self, today I am not going to run." and then what do you know 4:00 that afternoon there I am skipping across the road.
The plan was to run an easy 30 minutes or so right after work and then head down to the company Laue. The run went great and I successfully completed the work out I intended... An easy jog with x country drills mixed in. I finished the run with some strides.
However, something came up as I was heading down to the company picnic and I had to bail which is a bummer bummer because I was really looking forward to free food,a little Surf Surf extravaganza, along with total domination of the fitness challenge... Oh well, next year I suppose.
I also got stir crazy and decided to run home in the evening... It was only about 2 miles and some change, but it was an awesome run. I really like running early in the morning and late at night... I also love running when the sun is shinning. And now that I think about it, I really enjoy running in the rain and when it is slightly overcast. I felt as good as I ever have... and my cadence is improving as is my range of motion. My IT band is very very tight, but I have been diligent in rolling it out after almost every run and so far injury free.
No running for me today... But I am going to get out for a decent ride...
