Time contrasts with work + family issues + sinus issues have put a mild damper on the training recently. That being said I have been fully rested for most of the recent races. The plan is to hit it hard through SNSR and the UCSB races and then take a big long break (10 + days?) for the wedding and honey moon etc. Fitness has remained strong despite the cutting back of hours on the bike. With a win under my belt, my name in the paper 3+ times this year (remember it is all about the GLORY), and half way to a cat 2 upgrade, I am very pleased with the season so far.
I am especially impressed by my team mates. Gary and Cook took 1st and 2nd at the AMGEN TOC amateur TT- Gary's time would have placed him 72nd in the Pro field. Ron Takeda has been killing it out there in the local crits with a hand full of top 5 finishes. Derek has been a sprinting machine in the cat 4's and along with weixel who has really come into his own, they have both been turning consistently strong top 10 results in the Cat 4's. The California Legend and fastest masters racer alive Marco fanelli won the first race of the year (look out Thurlow). Junior Brandon is building form and making a strong presence on the road as well- It wont be long before he is dominating. Roger Moore even came out of retirement and exhibited extremely strong skillz at holding his own at both the local races. And that is just the tip of the iceberg... I can't wait to see what Johnny O and Smitty pull out of the hat soon. Be sure to stay connected to the latest and greatest at the Team Website (run by John Goodman/ Goodman Graphic).
