Feelin the effects

Gonna keep this one short and sweet. I am in a lot of pain.

Had a great race in SLO... stayed near the front, covered every move, took two primes and ended up in second place.

Upgraded and raced aggressive in the 3's. My only real concern in this race was to stay out of trouble. I stayed near the front and formed a three man break that stayed away for what felt like about 15 minutes or so. We split the work, rode smooth, keep it fast through the corners and stretched the gap to about 17 seconds at one point... but the field just wouldn't ease up in the slightest. At two to go I was sitting around 8th wheel or so, but after a bump here and a bump there, and my newly acquired Road Rash I sat up and finished 25th.

A picture of me with the real Champ!...

Props to Steve W. for hanging in there in what was a very fast 4's race.

Props to Z-pack for a great 8th place finish in the 3's and Smitty for riding an aggressive race.

Not sure where the rest of the team ended up as I headed home for some rest and recovery.
Be sure to check Marco's blog- Hes sure to have full race report with pictures up before long ;)

My parents were up and got the opportunity to watch me race.

This is my dad holding "The Buss" while I got Greg Alden to approve my upgrade.

This is my Mom in the feed zone Reppin hard.

Great Job Chester! The 3's should all watch out. Most importantly you sound like you're having fun.

Chesta,
Congrats on the 2nd and the upgrade! You've been riding well...and I thought you'd ridden a very smart race on Saturday and was bummed about your fall. Thanks for not taking me out ;-) I'm glad you were well enough to go out and race on Sunday.

BTW, I told Caitlin this after the race on Saturday, but in a day or so (after the wounds stop oozing so much) "Tegaderm" will be your friend. It's kind of expensive, but you can "shingle" it over any road rash and leave it on for a few days at a time. You can even take showers without having the rash get all soaked. The best thing is that it keeps the area moist and so it prevents scabbing and nice, new pink skin grows back fairly quickly. Just let me know if you want to find out more...

Chester- You raced great this weekend. Watching you in that break in the SLO cat-3 race was really exciting. Soooo close! BTW, it'll be awhile before I put up a race report and/or pics... swamped with work for a couple days. Mark ps. TnA is correct... Tagaderm is the best!
