Quick update on the weekend

Orosi:

The RR was good. 2000 feet a climbing a lap, 30 something miles a lap, 2 laps a race. I had a mechanical and couldn't finish. What happened is that my cassette was skipping / falling off in the little ring when ever I put any kind of tension on it (my rear derailer cable broke and was suuuuuuper frayed so Im sure that had something to do with it). On the first major climb I got gapped from the lead group.
Me and 5 other guys worked our asses off and closed about a 4 minute gap and caught the lead group right as they were starting the main climb again (the main climb started about 2 miles after start/Finish). I couldn't use the little ring and so was climbing in my 52x25. I made it up the first main climb with the group, but lost them cresting the top. There were two pretty big kickers after that and after the last kicker my left legs cramped up completely and I was done. I sagged it back, disappointed but the climbs were just too steep and I didn't have the gears, and my legs wouldn't move. The guys who got 1st and 2nd, I beat at pine flat.

Hanford:

The crit was an awsome course: Flat hour glass shape with 8 turns.
I sat in, started moving up with 5 to go; was top 10 with 3 to go; was 6th wheel coming into the last corner; The guys sitting 4th wheel just sat up- didn't pull off, just sat up; a fast bunch came through on the inside and I ended up tenth. In hindsight I should've tried to make my move before the last corner- I never really got a chance to open up a full sprint. But i definitely felt 'in control for most of the race.
I got a T-shirt and 5 bucks though--- freaking awesome... Velo Promo is the bomb diggity, I love the shirt factor.
