Team Platinum In full effect

Had the first real roadie meeting tonight to discus a few things such as team goals, individual goals, how to best represent sponsors etc.

A couple things that came to light is how rad of a shop Bicycle Bobs really is. In particular the Goleta shop! I have a little story I'd like to share real quick about a great experience my family had there.
My sister was having a really hard time finding a bike that she could afford, that fit, and that wasn't total garbage. She was in town so we headed to Bicycle Bobs in Goleta. 20 minutes later she walked about with a bike. They found a bike that fit her needs spot on. We were so stolked with how it went that we brought my Mom in the next day. Shes a mighty 5 feet tall and while she has a bike that fits it is also about 7 years old and she is ready for an upgrade. Roger spent time with her checking fits and checking catalogues. Being 5 feet tall it can be hard to find a bike that actually fits. While she didnt leave with a bike that day (Because they didn't have a bike that size in stock). She left with a couple really good options that Bob's can order. So if your in the market for a bike head on down to Bicycle Bobs in Goleta and ask for Roger. In my opinion (and now that of my family) you aren't going to find a more friendly/knowledgeable store in the Santa Barbara area.

The topic of goals came up at the meeting. I've been thinking a lot about goals recently with the season under weight. They have changed somewhat since MLK and SCNSR. I decided that really the only goal I have is to attack... Every race... Every opportunity... No matter how I feel. I know that many seasoned racers would tell me that this is a horrible plan. I understand that they are coming from experience. But I also know that I am 22 years old and have been really only riding for less then 10 months. So In order to find out what works best for me I am going to have to really try different tactics and what better time to figure that out then now and what better tactic to practice then the attack. So until further notice I have only one strategy and goal and that is Attack! When I am satisfied and/or tired of this plan I will develop another one.
One tactic at a time, one failure at a time, I will find great success. The great thing about a goal like this is it is not contingent on winning or loosing. It is contingent on attacking or not attacking.

We also discussed team goals and certain races that we are going to try make Priority A. There is a heap of wisdom and strong riders on our team I am so exited to learn from them and (depending on my ability to up grade through the ranks) race with them.

I have an appointment with the Doctor tomorrow so he can take a look at the bump on my head, Flu- like symptoms, and lingering cough.

So the game plan is to rest until then, see what he has to say, and listen to the Doc.

If your Local be sure to come on out to Goleta and check out Mothballs this Sat and if your an engineer looking for a job in Santa Barbara or know of one be sure to Check out http://www.textronsystems.com/careers.htm

Textron has been really instrumental in the Platinum Road Team so take a second to check em out! You never now who you might meet who is looking for a great job!
