Commute bogging you down?

I can't help but notice all the stress on the faces of people driving home. I know I catch myself with a furrowed brow when I am navigating the freeways. I also remember being young in a carpool on my way home from from school and hearing from the front seat...  "Out of my way you old Dinosaur fart". There is no doubt that driving in traffic is stressful. It is dangerous and there are hundreds of other cars out there filled with separate people who are most concerned with getting where they need to go the way they think they ought to do it. Some drive too fast. some drive slow in the fast lane. Others drive fast in the slow lane. Some weave in and out, others ride the brakes too much. Some apply makeup while driving. Others are on the phone. And most everyone has an opinion on what the others are doing.

Break the cycle.

Ride your bike to work, take a train, take a bus, sign up for a ride share at your work, jog. If you must drive, use it as a vehicle for kindness and consideration. There is no end to the possibilities to be courteous and spread kindness to strangers while on the road.

Find out what sort of traffic solutions or commute options are available for you and turn this:

Love this post. What a perfect reminder of how we can create mindfulness and peace in ALL aspects of our life, even the seemingly mundane ones.
