A tight four corner 0.7 mile/lap course with a very very slight raiser out of turn one.
Two plarinum riders made a showing for the pro 1 2 race: Tosh Clements and Myself (Chester Gillmore also known as Admiral Shred-a-saurus Gillmore to those in the know). The wind was fierce today with gusts over 20 mph and the field was thick with strong teams boasting top talent and big rosters.
The race started fast from gun and with the wind on the back side, the corners were brutal. I lost position quickly and knew five minutes into the race that my 10 minute warm up was insufficient and the back was not the place to be today. About 30 minutes from the start my race was over. My saddle came loose and was giving me some trouble which didn't help the situation. Later, I was told that I could have taken a free lap for that. You live and learn I suppose. Tosh came unglued about 10 minutes after I did. A tough day for all on the bike.
There were no less, than 3 crashes in the last ten minutes. Santos ended up taking the win and local santa barbara Echelon rider Alex finished with the lead group inside the top ten.
Both Tosh and I rode with class and represented the team with the up most dignity.
Results:

Tosh Clements DNF
