Im Late, I'm Late, For a Very Important Date

Got out for a nice lunch run out along Ellwood the other day... I think that is one of the most beautiful spots in Santa Barbara. I have really grown to love it and have been feeling very lucky to have it so close to where I work.

What blows my mind is the group of guys I work with who run a couple miles every day at lunch. Instead of running over to the ocean these guys opt to run the concrete sidewalk along Hollister. To each their own I guess, but I can't seem to figure it why anyone would want to run along a big 'ol traffic-y street when Undeveloped bluffs overlooking the pacific ocean are only .5 miles away.

The run was nice. My IT band started to tighten up about 1.5 miles in so I stoped and stretched it out a little and as I continued the pain lessened considerably. I am going down to Palm Springs this weekend to run the Tram Race with my Mom. She still holds the course record for a couple of age groups that she has set over the years.

Starting to get that riding itch again. Not saying that I have the itch, but I think It is starting to fester.

Over the weekend the team went out and rode the Solvang loop together. It was nice social ride on what I have come to know as some of the most beautiful terrain in all of the US. A change of pace is always nice and it is tough to beat some of the views.

After the ride I headed to the beach for a killer body board session. I was with a couple body surfing PROS who were very generous with their knowledge and the beta was flowing during the whole session. It was first time I really ever caught waves body surfing. Technique is everything.

Living so close to the beach it is so easy to forget that it is 5 minutes away! I class it in the same category as wearing a wallet. Right when you stick it in your pocket you are painfully away of its existence... in fact it is hard to ever imagine not feeling it when you first struggle to fin it into your freshly washed denim. Then 10 minutes go by and your feelers get accustomed to having it around and stop firing. BOOM- same deal as the beach? Maybe. Maybe not.
