This first two shots are the little bed I dug in the back yard. We live up above the mission, in the mission canyon area however and the soil is mostly limestone and clay... So me and the neighbor brought in some well composted horse manuer to start to treat the soil. The neighbor got most of the well composted stuff- i got stuck with the not so composted stuff... but as I turned it in, it was looking pretty promising.
But I decided it didn't want to wait another two months before planting so I started to build a little bed using some wood and stones lying around the property
Then with a little help from some friends...
We unloaded 5 or 6 full trash cans worth of awesome AWESOME well composted super nutrient power growing soil American foot ball go big guy number one designer sport...
Then I planted spinach, lettuce, Swiss chard, green onions and rosemary
I am certain that I don't have the slightest clue what I am doing... But I will learn as I grow.
The important thing is I have the bed built and I have seeds in the ground... Now all I have to do is wait 2 months and hope the birds and rats don't get em!
Is it too early to plant tomatoes?
