Today was one of those days when all I wanted to do was stop pedaling...
Off the front with Cook- wanted to stop pedaling
Dieing over goob- wanted to stop pedaling
no name coming up- wanted to stop pedaling
Bates- wanted to stop pedaling
Past the coffee shop- wanted to stop pedaling
Don't know what it was, but my legs were just feeling achy. Maybe it is time for a recovery day. But one thing is for sure, no matter what my head and legs were telling me I did the exact opposite... Pulled through harder with Cook, hung in with the lead group over bates, attacked no name, didn't let up on bates, went up Gibraltar after the coffee shop.
Days like these are solid gold when it comes to training the mind. No matter what, don't stop pedaling. I think life can be like that as well... No matter how bad it hurts sometimes, you don't just give up- you dig a little more in search of the real pay dirt that doesn't live in the power meter, , or what you latest v02 max test told you, or what Andy Cogans latest book says. I'm taking about the kind of power that can only come from about an inch above the sternum.
