Off Season

Today was the first day back in the saddle after taking about 10 days off. I had a mild asthma attack on the ride home which tells me that even though I'm feeling better, I haven't quite shaken the chest cold.
The plan will be to keep it easy until November and then start piling on the base miles and 2 x 20s and all that other fun stuff.

In other news my sister has been spending some time away from work the past couple of months in Atlanta while she finishes up her dissertation (She is set to graduate in May and from hence forth will be called Doctor Gillmore - Damn I am jealous that sounds so fresh... say it with me now, "Doctor Gillmore"). Somewhere in this process she has stumbled upon a spiritual path towards simplicity, I guess you would say, and has started a blog of her own to document her fight or plight if you will. While it isn't necessarily cycling related she is one of the most intelligent people I have met (although lacking at times in common sense) and writing is one of her many attributes. Check out her ramblings here at http://www.seekingsimplicityandpeace.blogspot.com/
