Struggling to maintain form

I've said it before and Ill say it again... It has been a LOOOOONG season of racing.
The first race of the year, I did on January 19th, and have raced 31 times since that date and am feeling like the wheels are starting to fall off. I have keept burn out at bay pretty well this season due to short manditory rest periods caused by illness, broken bike, injury, etc.

But now I am starting to feel the season... In my knees, my shoulder, my lowerback, I feel like I am starting to come unravelled.

As cyclist, we put our bodies through such strain trying to build and maintain competitive fitness that at some point it says enough is enough. And then there is the mental fatigue.

I have decided against racing Everest Challenge this year. I would like to do it at some point, but right now it will be everything I can do to maintain through University Road Race, two weeks away.

I am already drooling over what Ill be able to do with all that free time on the weekends once the season comes to a close...

Chesta-san,

A suggestion... Do a few flat rides and don't take it out of the 39x19. Cruise out the bike path to UCSB or along Cabrillo. No hard efforts.

also, isn't University RR this weekend?
