Hour of Power

Today was the Hour of Power work out.
Short sweet and to the point.
15 min warm up
Then an hour at or just below threshold attacking out of the saddle for 20 seconds every 3 minutes.

The great thing about this work out is that the watts avg out to what would be a ftp work out, however the attacks every 3 minutes replicate some of the surges you would find in a race.
(BTW I'm pretty much just repeating what Jason O. said when he explained the work out to me- I didn't come up with this on my own... I think he got it from someone else too.)

It was oodles and boodles of fun.

Chester,
That "someone else" would be one Bill Black, a "wattage list" regular (on Google Groups).

You didn't do this on a trainer today though, right? (That's how Bill does them as he's holed up in the Maine winters.) It's WAAAY too nice out to ride indoors.

No TnA... rest assured I was riding outside!

Chesta-You missed 9 miles of above threshold (at least felt that way)ITT practice followed by a 9 mile TTT during lunch to do this silly workout? Kidding, sounds like a good and relevant and painful freakin session.
