I checked the weather report this morning it said it was 65 degrees, feels like 65 degrees, 10 % chance of rain.
Following Marco's Rules of Thumb #1 I dressed accordingly. Despite the fact that he failed to heed his own advice ( I saw him on the ride wearing full blown leg warmers... hmmmm).
Well when It started drizzling I decided no longer would I rely on the weather man for my weather. No not I, I will step outside before dressing from this point on.
Had a great Echelon ride with the homies, then split off and met Todd Booth and Jaimie Goldstein and we climbed up to La Cumbre peak via OSM, Painted Cave. We actually climbed right out of the fog and had about 45 minutes of pure sun shinning awesomeness before we started the god awful Gibraltar ascent. I had to stop and re tighten bolts in my 8 year old ultrega shifters two times. Up there its pavement optional, and most of the asphalt that is still on the road has relocated to different locations then where it was originally paved.
I then proceeded to come home eat the usual post ride meal: several pounds of whole wheat linguine with garlic, spinach, tomato, parm cheese, tempeh, and Olive oil.
After that right to the psychology book. Ive been pegged these last couple of days trying to get all my work caught up so that I can leave for Palm Springs Tuesday night and be home to help my folks get everything together for Thanksgiving.
For those who do not know, T-Day at the Gillmore Compound is a pretty big deal with friends and family members numbering anywhere from 60 to 80, travelling from all over the country near and far. I'm super stolked to see family and friends, some of who I have not seen for several years, but am also pretty stressed trying to get everything done that I need to get done.
I leave you with some spoken word lyrics I wrote a year and a half ago that came to my mind while riding today
The hypocrisy of the aristocracy,
Nothing more than an autocracy, stealing our demecracy
Is a murders anthology.
I will not give an apology for my ideology

Let's talk about T-day. maybe we can swing a ride together. Or I was thinking about hiking down, maybe we could meet half way?
