Its about time

Well Tuesday evening I left Santa Barbara by way of car pool at around 6:30. It took over an hour to get from Goleta to Monticeto, but after we made it past Carp it was smooth sailing pretty much the whole way.
The guest count was already over a Dozen when I arrived which meant pretty much all rooms, guest rooms and all but one couch was already taken. My father was waiting up for me in his usual fashion: Fast asleep in his green chair in the living room, snoring loudly, watching a concert dvd. This particular evening he had on a David Grisman, Jerry Garcia video all about the band Old and In the Way. Everyone else in the house was fast asleep. I scrounged up some cold pizza in the freeze and went to bed on the couch in the living room (one of the only ones in the house not occupied).
I woke up Wed. morning to a loud discussion in the dinning room about property values an the real estate market. The Gillmore house wakes up around 5:30 and by 6 in the morning is bustling and loud. There is no whispering and there is no tip toeing. If you can sleep through the hustle and bustle no one will bother you, but no one goes out of their way to be quiet. There is little sympathy for those who miss the sunrise.
Wed. consisted of a whole lot of catching up with a family, a lot of work around the house to get things ready, and dinner out.
I also was able to sneak away for a beautiful 2.5 hour ride along Dillon rode in the middle of the desert. Man do I love the the landscape out there. It couldn't have been more beautiful.
Thanksgiving was great. We had Turkey cooked three different ways, homemade gravy, Stuffing, salad, potatoes, all the fixings, and all the good company you could handle. Grandma came through with the pies and coconut dream bars which were to die for. All in all I think we had somewhere around 61 people for dinner. Following dinner everyone congregates in the living room where my dad and some others play music and sing till the wee hours of the morning. It really is a great time full of love... what thanksgiving is all about.
About 25 people or so stick around through out the weekend and Friday is a day reserved for eating homemade pizzoli, hanging out, and recovering for the epic dance battles that happen when the gang heads out for a night on the town.
Sat. we headed up to Glendale and had Thanksgiving dinner number two with Caitlin's Family.
Other than the fact that I caught a little cold, the likes of which I am still recovering from the weekend couldnt have been better!

I'm feeling a lot better today and got out for a nice and easy spin.

I guess there is not much else to report for now other than:
LIFE IS GOOD!

Below is a picture of my parents: Thats where I Came from.
