Forward and Up

Yesterday I got out and spun for 1.5 hours. It was good. Im sort of recovering from a little cold or something so Ive been taking it relatively easy. I've kinda been enjoying it actually. The first couple of days into my recovery cycle I felt a little bored but now I'm kinda sad its come to an end. I got to look around a lot more, smell the flowers, listen the sounds, and really appreciate some of the scenery. I've been using it also a time to practice The Alexander Technique . It was another technique I got the privilege to study while at Salt Lake City and it was one of my favorites. I was talking to Caitlin last night about why that was and we decided It had a lot to do with release. It would be impossible to describe in words some of the bio mechanical breakthroughs that I experienced while practicing Alexander. It also not something that can be recreated and I think the reason why has to do with release. I can go through the same motions and same steps as before but release is not something that can be forced. I also like the whole Idea forward and up. I think forward and up is a pretty good philosophy to live life by, maybe that is the real reason I like climbing so much.

later in the day after my ride I laced up my running shoes and went for a little Jog. It was nice to run with out my IT band flaring up. I always hesitate to run since my injury because I'm never sure if I'm going to be limping home or not.
I stoped at the turtle pond downtown on my way home and sat in the park, closed my eyes, and just listened to the world for 5 minutes. I dont do that often enough, just listen.

Then to make better an already perfect day Caitlin and I went and saw Im Not There. It took a little while to understand the way in which the story was being told, but it was AMAZING. Cate Blanchet gave and absolutely enchanting performance.
