slacking

First and foremost Caitlin and I had a blast up at J-tree. We got in some killer hiking, a couple runs, and I got to pop down to the see some old friends in Palm Springs, saw my grandma, my sister, my parents, and Caitlin's parents. What a great Trip.
Despite a minor set back or two:
Caitlin decided Two and half hours into the desert that she was "done" hiking and with a scowl on her face plopped down in the shade determined to hold her ground. I had promised her a fun exiting hike full of bouldering and scrambling and for a little over two hours had delivered nothing but flat thick deep wash sand that isn't the most pleasant to walk through. With some minor words of persuasion I convinced her to push on promising some boulders just over the next ridge. Well it turned out just over the next ridge was some sweet bouldering. phew! I was off the hook, she had a blast, we found a wonderful boulder to have lunch on with a sweet view... I have a ton of pictures that Ill put up as soon as I get them on her computer from her camera.

Tonight I took a 'MAP' test... Those letters stand for something, I just cant remember. Its a ramp fitness test that we did on a compu trainer. What we figured out was that my FTP, or the max power I could sustain for an hour was right around 300 watts according to this test. I'll post the graphs as soon as I sort them all out.

Thanks to the generosity of Friend/Mentor, Jason I'm now going to be training with power. He lent me an extra powertap that he had. We got it all set up tonight so Im super super super stolked so start training with focus.

Another former teacher/advisor turned good freind Todd Capenter aka el badito, is having a baby. CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT! I found out from his wife that she is due Dec 15th. Here all this time I've been talking to him he didnt mention a thing. It was his wife who brought it up. Unbelievable... anyways the world could always use another cyclist and this little person(not sure if its a boy or girl) will have some killer genes working towards him. Todd if your reading this congratulations man I'm super exited for you. I called everyone I could think of.
